Josh Gooden Cinema: A Wedding Cinema Brand, Eleven Years in the Making

In January of 2020 (pre COVID-19), Serena and I ventured overseas for a month long journey to reignite our creative energy. Every year (since 2015), we have made it a goal of ours to travel to an international destination for leisure and exploration. By doing so, we have created opportunities to broaden our perspectives and experience cultures different from our own in the States.

This year, our country of choice was Thailand. There, we refueled our empty creative canisters and pondered the future of our individual businesses. Six years have flown by since Serena and I first began our partnership as both a couple and business owners. With this passing of time, we discovered a path to finding clients with intention and have regularly discussed the process of adaption as creatives.

Our incredible brand designer, Nikkol Christiansen of Refine Studio, mailed us a physical workbook to complete during our travels. When inspiration presented itself to us, we took a moment to jot down our musings. Today, we are delighted to officially reveal our new brand identity and website, complete with copy by the brilliant Sarah Orman of CEÁRR Creative.

A nearly seven month culmination of discussions have led us to a brand we are immensely excited to call “ours.” While stay in place orders have challenged us in 2020, it has allowed us the time for clarity and reflection that we may not have had, if our lives had been subjected to the hustle of wedding season. There is a “why” for every element of our logo, portfolio, and page on our website.

This experience has challenged us on every level and we have evolved into not only stronger business owners, but partners in life. We could not be more grateful for this and are proud to continue crafting fine art, emotive narratives for couples of all backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and identifiers.

We sincerely thank you for joining us on our journey thus far. While this year has revealed itself to be vastly different than we originally anticipated, we are thrilled to set a foundation for our future clients and the dear industry friendships we have made since the inception of our businesses in 2009.
