Meagan + Donnie // Wedding | Charleston, South Carolina

Back in October, Meagan and Donnie invited us to film their beautiful wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston is one of my absolute favorite places, and having been once before I knew it would be amazing. Meagan is also a videographer, so she really understood our process and allowed us creative freedom in almost every aspect. She also follows a lot of our work, so we offered to shoot some Super 8 B&W reversal film in exchange for being awesome. Once we arrived, we met up with Kellan Studios for lunch (they are seriously amazing photographers + also from VA ;]), and we headed to the Isle of Palms to follow Meagan and Donnie as they got ready. Afterwards we headed to Boone Hall Plantation for the first look, which was a cinematographers dream. The three mile drive is lined with majestic live oak trees embellished with cascading Spanish moss. It was absolutely stunning, and probably one of my favorite locations ever. The ceremony and reception were held nearby at the Cotton Dock, which overlooks a small marsh. The texture was off the hook and Meagan really made the space her own. 1500 hand folded Origami peace cranes hung infront of the reception area, as well as over the dance floor. They looked incredible and we were sure to include a few in the footage. After the heartfelt ceremony, Meagan and Donnie danced into the night. At one point Donnie and all of the guests broke out into a surprise choreographed dance for Meagan that was incredible. No one was quite sure when it would happen, but it was truly perfect. Before their sparkler exit, some guests launched lanterns into the night. The sight was amazing and really was a highlight of the reception. Meagan and Donnie were such a thrill to work with and I am so excited to share their film below!!! Enjoy!!

Caitlin + Erin // Wedding | Richmond, VA

Caitlin and Erin were one of our favorite couples to work with. Their love for one another was so genuine and their vows were pretty incredible (we shed a a few tears). The entire day was so personal and having the wedding and reception in Erin’s backyard was absolutely perfect. Erin built a chuppah for the ceremony, and both Caitllin and Erin, as well as their families, folded 1,000 cranes and helped with the decorations. We had such an amazing time getting to know Caitlin and Erin, and I am thrilled to share their film with you below!! Brittany + Harry // Wedding | Prince Frederick, MD

Today I am thrilled to share Brittany and Harry’s gorgeous wedding with you. They are such a genuine and hilarious couple, and we had so much fun getting to know them over the last few months. Their wedding was held at the beautiful Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick, MD. Katelyn James (one of my favorite photographers) and I fell in love with its very italian feel and Brittany’s amazing rustic details made it even better. Brittany and Harry’s ceremony was very personal and even featured a small band. The music was so beautiful and touching, that it was begging to be the soundtrack for their film. After the ceremony, Richard Green from Richard Green Entertainment, got the party started and it definitely did not stop. Anna Burke did a fabulous job keeping everything running smooth and she was also fantastic to work with. I hope you enjoy Brittany and Harry’s film below! :]

Stacy + Kevin // Wedding | Dickerson, Maryland

I am so excited to finally share Stacy & Kevin’s film with you all! They had such great personalities and were so relaxed throughout their wedding day. The Comus Inn in Dickerson, Maryland proved to be a perfect location for their gorgeous ceremony and reception. The weather was perfect and I believe the roosters liked it too. :] The cocktail hour was one of the best this year with its signature macaroni bar where guests could apply various toppings to their plate of Mac n’cheese. It definitely looked good and guests really seemed to enjoy it. Once the sun set, DJ Rico Mills got the party started and everyone danced into the cloudless night. We had such a great time getting to know Stacy and Kevin, and I am thrilled to share their film below!

Whitney + Peter // Wedding | Charlottesville, VA

I am so thrilled to finally share Whitney & Peter’s wedding with you! I met Whitney and Peter in October of last year for their engagement session and they could not have been more fun to work and get to know. We even saw them a few times this year at a few weddings as October quickly approached again (this year has flown by). Their wedding was held at the beautiful Prince Michel Vineyard & Winery near Charlottesville, Virginia and they seemed to have perfect weather yet again. :] While unfortunately I was not able to be present the entire day, my team of Ashley, Kevin, and Tim did an amazing job capturing their event and I am so excited to share Whitney & Peter’s wedding with you below!

Lauren + Drew // Wedding | Richmond, VA

I am so excited to finally share Lauren & Drew’s wedding with you!! I met Lauren and Drew back in October of 2010 for their engagement session and they could not have been more fun to work with. Now a year later, I was able to capture their beautiful wedding day in Richmond, Virginia. The beautiful ceremony was held at Derbyshire Baptist Church, which had a classic Williamsburg feel that I loved. Once Lauren and Drew were ready, they exchanged gifts and letters before the ceremony. It was very touching to hear them read the letters out loud. Towards the end of the ceremony, a choir emerged from the back of the church to sing ““Joyful, Joyful” as Lauren & Drew were pronounced husband and wife. It was a complete surprise to everyone and it was a fantastic touch to the end of the ceremony. After the ceremony, we took the whole bridal party outside and shot some amazing images in the golden sunset light before heading to the James River Clubhouse for the reception. During cocktail hour guests really enjoyed the putting green set up outside, Cornhole, drinks, and a gorgeous sunset on the porch of the clubhouse. “The Wrest“, an incredible band (they could literally play anything) based out of Richmond got the party started and it did not stop until the very end. We had such an incredible time hanging out with Lauren and Drew and really getting to know their family over these last few months. I really want to thank all of the vendors and rest of my team that helped out to make this wedding so special! Courtney and Brittany from Merriment Events were amazing to work with and were super helpful in keeping everyone on the same page and the day running smoothly. Maria + Chris // Wedding | Charlottesville, VA

Back in August, we had the opportunity to capture Maria & Chris’s beautiful wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia. The ceremony was held at UVA Chapel and the reception was held at the incredible Keswick Hall (we were so excited to finally shoot there). Samantha from Samantha Jackson Weddings was a pleasure to work with as well as Dane Sanders who flew in from California to photograph the event. I really enjoyed the awesome Italian dances, as well as the heartfelt toasts. We had such a great time hanging out with Maria & Chris, and I hope you enjoy their film below!

Lauren // Bridal Session | Richmond, VA

Back in August, I met up with the awesome Lauren of Lauren and Drew (now official :]), to shoot a bridal session before her wedding on October 8th. Having never had the opportunity to shoot a bridal session before, I was a little nervous, but that quickly faded once I had arrived at the James River Clubhouse . Lauren, the dress, and the location were completely amazing. We started inside and then moved outside once it started to cool down. Luckily I brought my Leica and EOS-3 with me so I could shoot film and I’m so glad I did..all the images below were shot on film. It was perfect for this session and her wedding. The bridal session not only gave me a chance to talk more with Lauren (plus capture more sweet images), but to meet her mom and really connect with them both before the wedding day. I really had a great time capturing these images of Lauren and I cannot wait to share Lauren & Drew’s wedding images with you soon!

Emily + Jesse // Wedding Film | Fairfax, VA

I am so excited to finally share Emily & Jesse’s wedding with you all! Emily & Jesse have such incredibly fun personalities and it really showed throughout the wedding day. The ceremony was held at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and the reception at the International Country Club in Fairfax. The reception was beautifully decorated and it was really neat to see how Emily & Jesse’s personalities made it into the small details. Once Mike from Washington Celebrations got the party started, it did not stop. Emily’s father even showed off his awesome dance moves. We had such a great time capturing Emily & Jesse’s wedding day and I hope you enjoy their film below! A special thanks to my second shooter Jon Combs and my father Greg for helping out!

Ashley + Marshall // Wedding | Charlotte, NC

Getting to know Ashley this past year has been incredible. Its rare when you meet a bride that really connects with your work, second shoots with you (she is a photographer too) + bakes you brownies, and goes to the Rockingham County Fair to help photograph it . After months of eagerly waiting, I was finally able to meet Marshall when he returned from Afganistan. It was so neat seeing how their personalities mix so well together. We came down to Charlotte on a Friday, shot an interview with Ashley and Marshall at the Hotel Sierra, and just hung out during the rehearsal dinner. I also got to meet Mike Smith of Ash Imagery, who is an incredibly talented film shooter from Philadelphia and Dan of Love City DJs. It was also amazing to meet Sarah Goodwin, Becky Goodwin, Ashley Barnett, and Jeremy Mitchell. There was so many people that I hadn’t met, but wanted too and it was so neat for all of us to come together on the wedding day. It was also hard to resist talking to everyone and filming at the same time. Ashley’s gorgeous ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Chapel the and the reception at the Mint Museum of Craft + Design. The reception was beautifully decorated and I enjoyed seeing their personalities in all the little details. Typically as vendors, we don’t get the luxury of eating awesome food, but Ashley totally hooked us up. I don’t think we could get enough of the mini hamburgers and fries served at cocktail, and then the chicken + mac n’cheese during dinner. :] Everyone had an incredible time and we were so lucky to tell Ashley & Marshall’s story!
