Caitlin + Erin // Wedding | Richmond, VA

Caitlin and Erin were one of our favorite couples to work with. Their love for one another was so genuine and their vows were pretty incredible (we shed a a few tears). The entire day was so personal and having the wedding and reception in Erin’s backyard was absolutely perfect. Erin built a chuppah for the ceremony, and both Caitllin and Erin, as well as their families, folded 1,000 cranes and helped with the decorations. We had such an amazing time getting to know Caitlin and Erin, and I am thrilled to share their film with you below!! Stacy + Kevin // Wedding | Dickerson, Maryland

I am so excited to finally share Stacy & Kevin’s film with you all! They had such great personalities and were so relaxed throughout their wedding day. The Comus Inn in Dickerson, Maryland proved to be a perfect location for their gorgeous ceremony and reception. The weather was perfect and I believe the roosters liked it too. :] The cocktail hour was one of the best this year with its signature macaroni bar where guests could apply various toppings to their plate of Mac n’cheese. It definitely looked good and guests really seemed to enjoy it. Once the sun set, DJ Rico Mills got the party started and everyone danced into the cloudless night. We had such a great time getting to know Stacy and Kevin, and I am thrilled to share their film below!

Maria + Chris // Wedding | Charlottesville, VA

Back in August, we had the opportunity to capture Maria & Chris’s beautiful wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia. The ceremony was held at UVA Chapel and the reception was held at the incredible Keswick Hall (we were so excited to finally shoot there). Samantha from Samantha Jackson Weddings was a pleasure to work with as well as Dane Sanders who flew in from California to photograph the event. I really enjoyed the awesome Italian dances, as well as the heartfelt toasts. We had such a great time hanging out with Maria & Chris, and I hope you enjoy their film below!

Emily + Jesse // Wedding Film | Fairfax, VA

I am so excited to finally share Emily & Jesse’s wedding with you all! Emily & Jesse have such incredibly fun personalities and it really showed throughout the wedding day. The ceremony was held at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and the reception at the International Country Club in Fairfax. The reception was beautifully decorated and it was really neat to see how Emily & Jesse’s personalities made it into the small details. Once Mike from Washington Celebrations got the party started, it did not stop. Emily’s father even showed off his awesome dance moves. We had such a great time capturing Emily & Jesse’s wedding day and I hope you enjoy their film below! A special thanks to my second shooter Jon Combs and my father Greg for helping out!

Ashley + Marshall // Wedding | Charlotte, NC

Getting to know Ashley this past year has been incredible. Its rare when you meet a bride that really connects with your work, second shoots with you (she is a photographer too) + bakes you brownies, and goes to the Rockingham County Fair to help photograph it . After months of eagerly waiting, I was finally able to meet Marshall when he returned from Afganistan. It was so neat seeing how their personalities mix so well together. We came down to Charlotte on a Friday, shot an interview with Ashley and Marshall at the Hotel Sierra, and just hung out during the rehearsal dinner. I also got to meet Mike Smith of Ash Imagery, who is an incredibly talented film shooter from Philadelphia and Dan of Love City DJs. It was also amazing to meet Sarah Goodwin, Becky Goodwin, Ashley Barnett, and Jeremy Mitchell. There was so many people that I hadn’t met, but wanted too and it was so neat for all of us to come together on the wedding day. It was also hard to resist talking to everyone and filming at the same time. Ashley’s gorgeous ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Chapel the and the reception at the Mint Museum of Craft + Design. The reception was beautifully decorated and I enjoyed seeing their personalities in all the little details. Typically as vendors, we don’t get the luxury of eating awesome food, but Ashley totally hooked us up. I don’t think we could get enough of the mini hamburgers and fries served at cocktail, and then the chicken + mac n’cheese during dinner. :] Everyone had an incredible time and we were so lucky to tell Ashley & Marshall’s story! A few months ago, Elisa contacted me about doing a promotional film for her photography business and I could not have been more excited! One of the biggest things I love about cinema is being able to tell stories and I always find it fascinating to hear why people love what they do and how they started. You also get that raw energy and emotion thats so hard to present through text. Elisa and Edward had a wonderful group of past clients and other vendors to help tell the story of her brand and her unique look (lots of film awesomeness).We shot most of the film at Pippin Hill Vineyards, which has the most amazing evening light ever and the absolutely perfect bridal suite with beautiful soft light (we shot the interview there). While I don’t usually put technical details in blog posts, I figured I would here as we are using some sweet new tools. The interview was filmed with the Sony FS100, which is our lovely new ceremony/interview camera, and Leica R primes. The Leica glass is completely amazing and razor sharp (the R mount is compatible with the 5D Mark II as well and is less expensive than M mount since its not made anymore). All the other sequences were filmed with the Canon 1D Mark IV, which we purchased earlier this year. Its better suited for video, has a very similar look to the Mark II, and just absolutely rocks. I use it almost exclusively with a Manfrotto monopod and the 24/35/50/135 set of Canon L Primes. All the tracking sequences were shot with a 5D Mark II and a 24mm 1.4 with the Cinevate Atlas 30 slider and a Steadicam Flyer LE. Everything was edited together in Final Cut Pro and graded in Color.

Magdalena + Robert // Wedding Film | Halifax, Nova Scotia

When Magdalena first inquired with us last year and told us about her wedding in Nova Scotia, I was beyond excited for the opportunity. Having never shot a wedding internationally, I was a little scared it would fall through because of travel costs, but thankfully it all worked out and we were able to make the journey. :] Magdalena and Robert could not have been nicer to work with and the whole event was incredibly fun. The ceremony took place at the St.Thomas Aquinas Parish and the gorgeous reception was held at The Prince George. Avril Mulholland from Update Events did the beautiful design and decor and Penny MacKinnon took care of all the little details at the hotel. We also got a chance to work with the fantastic Liam and Steph of Applehead Studio who not only helped us navigate a Canadian wedding, but whom were brilliant to work with. I hope you enjoy this gorgeous wedding and I want to thank Magdalena and Robert again for the wonderful opportunity! Enjoy!!

Shelby + Corey // Wedding Film | Williamsburg, Virginia

After a month of trekking up and down the east coast, I am thrilled to share another story with you! A few weeks ago we traveled to Colonial Williamsburg to film Shelby & Corey’s gorgeous wedding. If you’ve been a reader of my posts, you’ll know how much I love visiting Williamsburg and exploring its wealth of history, so I was more than thrilled to shoot a wedding there. Shelby and Corey were incredibly sweet to get to know and were so welcoming to us on the wedding day. Shelby incorporated a lot of DIY details, which fit not only with her personality, but with the location too. I hope you enjoy their film below! Iva + Joe // Wedding Film | Richmond, Virginia

After two months of being on the road filming and editing, I am so excited to start sharing some amazing stories with you! Iva & Joe’s beautiful wedding brought us to the beautiful Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Richmond, Virginia. From the fun little personalized gifts in the beginning of the day to simple, but meaningful glances during the ceremony, one could instantly feel Iva & Joe’s love for one another. Once the beautiful ceremony was over, we hit the cobblestone streets of historic Richmond for a fun photo session with the awesome Beth Harris of Beth Harris Photography before heading off to the Richmond Marriott to dance the night away. With Iva’s family being from Croatia, they had a live band playing Croatian music and quite a few amazing dances. I really enjoyed getting to know Iva & Joe, and I hope you enjoy their film below!

Nathaniel + Kiera // Wedding Film | Washington D.C

I am so thrilled so share Nathaniel and Kiera’s wedding with you today! Kiera and her family were so much fun to work with and made us really feel apart of their family. Many of Kiera’s bridal accessories were pieces that were passed down through her family. The lace on the bouquet was actually from her great-great grandmother’s wedding 99 years ago on June 2nd, 1912 and the cameo was from her grandmother (so neat). The whole start of the day was so relaxed and when I met up with Nathaniel and his groomsman we find ourselves at the hotels lounge and bar haha. The ceremony was held at the incredible Universalist National Memorial Church in the heart of Washington D.C. The ceremony was beautiful and I loved capturing all the little moments between Nathaniel and Kiera. I swear Nathaniel said, “this is so surreal” at least five times.

The reception was held at the amazing Meridian House and I think its one of my absolute favorite venues now. It was built by the ambassador to France and he filled it with many 18th century French drawings and antiques (totally amazing). The venue, the beautiful weather, and the all star vendor line up, made for a perfect night. Megan with Event Accomplished did an amazing job planning and pulling off one of the best weddings yet! We also had the chance to work with Kristi and Chris of Kristi Odom Photography. They were incredible to work with and we sort of became one big team, which I loved.
