Desiree + Donnie // Engaged

A few weeks ago, we met up with Desiree & Donnie at Breaux Vineyards, one of their favorite vineyards, near D.C. While it was overcast at first, the skies opened up and we had beautiful golden light as we explored the Vineyard together. Luckily it was peak too, so the colors were absolutely amazing. Desiree and Donnie were so much fun to hang out with and I am so excited to be able to capture their wedding next March at the St. Regis in D.C! Enjoy a few images from our session below. :]

Nat + Courtney // Engaged

A few weeks ago I met up with Nat & Courtney who flew in from Chicago for Lauren & Drew’s fabulous wedding (coming very soon) in Richmond, VA. Drew’s mother introduced us and we decided it would be really fun to shoot their engagement session in Staunton while they were here. Courtney and Nat thought they could escape the windy city, but instead they brought the weather with them. It was a bit cold, but they toughed it out and we took some really fun images as we explored the city together. Nat & Courtney were amazing to hang out with and I hope you enjoy a few of the images below! :]

Neda + Cyrus // Engaged

April has been a wonderful and incredibly busy month for us. We’ve been shooting commercials in Arkansas, working with James Madison University on a project for the health department, and preparing for the wedding season. I have so many films and photographs to share with you soon, but I thought I would start with Neda + Cyrus’s love story session we shot last Wednesday. I had the pleasure of filming their wedding this past Saturday and premiering this film at their reception. Neda and Cyrus were such a joy to spend an afternoon with and their wedding was absolutely incredible to document. Justin + Julia // Engaged

I am so excited to finally share Justin & Julia’s gorgeous engagement session, which took place at Justin’s family farm in Raphine, Virgina. The farm was absolutely gorgeous with sprawling fields, a nearby mill, and a barn filled with bales of hay (its also going to be their wedding location). Despite the cold, Justin and Julia were willing to tough it out and I had so much fun exploring this incredible place with them. I look forward to shooting their wedding at the end of May! Bee + Patrick // Save The Date

I hope everyone is having a great Valentine’s Day! Two weeks ago I met up with my amazing friends Jodi & Kurt from Jodi Miller Photography and the talented Lynn of Sunshowers and Rainshine to shoot a small engagement session for Bee & Patrick. We really went all out for a Valentine’s Day theme with Lynn’s styling ( she even made that super cute bowtie, the hair piece Bee is wearing, the “Bee Mine” sign, and those heart garlands), fondant hearts, birds, and XOXO’s by Christina of Sweet Lavender Bake Shoppe, and gorgeous florals by Janie of The Bride’s Cafe. Even though we shot it on literally the coldest day of the year, Bee & Patrick didn’t freeze and we were blessed with beautiful golden light throughout the shoot. Lauren + Drew | Fall Engagement Session

In late October, I met up with Lauren & Drew for an amazing fall themed engagement session in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We had so much fun exploring downtown and traveling to a nearby field for some gorgeous sunset shots. Doug + Emily | Engagement Session

In early October, we met up with the fabulous Doug & Emily for an amazing vintage themed engagement session at Swanannoa Palace (the perfect place for vintage shoots). Doug & Emily brought along vintage picture frames, awesome vintage hats, lips and mustaches, and a bunch of other fun props (Emily’s parents have an antique business), which we totally loved. When we first arrived for the shoot, we definitely thought it would completely downpour, but after a few minutes the clouds moved away for some gorgeous evening light. After working with Doug & Emily, we absolutely cannot wait for their wedding next May in Leesburg, VA!

Whitney + Peter // Engagement Session

Whitney & Peter are an amazing couple, and we had so much fun running around Prince Michel Vineyard in the gorgeous weather! We found many awesome locations throughout the property and even a prop (the heart..which made a really awesome shot). While their wedding is not until next October of next year, I was so excited to work with them this soon. It was truly an awesome day and I cannot wait to work with them next year!

Brent + AnneCallie | Engagement Session

I am so thrilled to share Brent + AnneCallie’s engagement session with you! Having worked with Brent on film projects in the past, I knew it would be a really fun session. We shot in downtown Harrisonburg, which led us to the Spring Box in Court Square, The Artful Dodger (where they first met), and an awesome abandoned train station. I look forward to shooting their wedding in early September! Enjoy the teasers!!

Paula + Jared | E-Fusion

We are so excited to share this post with you, as it has been something in the works for a few months now. Last weekend, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Jodi Miller Photography on a new project called “E-Fusion”! E-Fusion is a new concept that combines still + motion photography of an engagement session into one medium. For couples, this means that they will not only receive photos of their engagement session, but a video too. This video can be shared online with family and friends all over the world and help you’re wedding guests get excited for the big day!

Kurt, Jodi, and I traveled to Washington D.C. to work with an amazing couple, Paula &Jared. Since Paula is from Colombia, they thought it would be fit to incorporate a travel theme into their session. We came up with several props that would represent them both, including a vintage luggage piece, globe, paper airplanes, maps, and some old-timey letters (a fun DIY we created with tea-stained paper + some photoshop action :] ) . We shot around Georgetown and ended up in a field behind Reagan Int’l Airport (the perfect setting for their theme!). So without further adieu, here is Paula & Jared’s E-Fusion:
